| ASHTON KEYNES PRE-SCHOOL
Ashton Keynes Pre-school provides quality childcare for up to 18 children per session from 2 years 10 months to 5 year olds in a safe and nurturing environment. Run by motivated staff, and a committee of parents.
Located in the Village Hall. It is a natural progression from the weekly parent and toddler’s group, and a stepping stone up to Ashton Keynes Primary School.
Pre-School morning sessions
Run from Monday to Thursday (9am-11.45am) and Friday (8.45am-11.30am).
Children under 3yrs
Children can start attending Pre-School at the start of the term in which they turn 3.
Before the age of 3, a Pre-School session costs £8.75 per child per session. As a guide, most children starting in the term before they turn 3 will do 2 sessions per week. As your child settles in, reaches the age of 3 and moves towards starting Primary School, you will probably want to increase the number of sessions per week.
Children 3yrs plus
A Nursery Grant is available (for up to five 2½ hour sessions per week) for all children from the term after their 3rd birthday. The grant is paid over 38 weeks of the year, although Pre-School runs for longer than this, so you will be charged £9.50 per session for anything over the 38 weeks. Parents will also be asked to contribute towards the extra 15minutes each session that we run, over the grant allocation of 2½ hours, at a charge of 70p per session.
Rising 5s
A “Rising 5s” session for children starting school in the following September commence in January. These sessions come highly recommended, as they are slightly more formal and prepare the children well for starting school. Children attending these sessions are taken on a number of visits to AK school during the summer term. Children attend just one of these afternoon sessions
Lunch club is charged at £3 a session and is currently available on a Monday to Thursday, (11.45am-12.55pm). There is usually no difficulty obtaining a lunch club place if you so choose once term is underway.
Our last Ofsted inspection was good. We have recently completed a new outdoor area with a lottery grant, and hope to further improve this with a garden area soon.
