The Ashton Keynes Reading Group was formed in 1991.  It is a small group that meets on the third Tuesday evening of the month in members' homes to discuss a book that we have all read.  There are about 10 members of the group, and generally 6 - 8 attend each meeting.

Six books at a time are chosen by a subset of the group, on a rotation basis.  Most of the books are novels, with the occasional exception.  We try to achieve a mixture of male and female, and English and foreign writers, reading more contemporary than classic work.  We do not meet in July or August, because of holidays, and to give members a chance to read something of their own choice!  The December meeting is a more informal affair, with party food and drink, and sometimes a literary quiz to keep us amused.

We have no officers or committee.
